As part of the MDS IT Support team, you will be responsible for providing 2nd line application support on issues raised from the IT Service Desk and also for monitoring and maintaining Morrison Data Services systems.
Key Responsibilities
? Provide 2nd line technical support on issues raised via the technical helpdesk engaging with both internal and external customers.
? Monitor MDS application to ensure daily processing is successful.
? Maintain the current MDS application suite using SQL, Linux, Unix.
? Investigate problems and provide solutions often collaborating with the DBA and Development teams.
The Ideal Candidate
? Demonstrate good knowledge of SQL DDL and DML (preferably oracle), Linux, Unix.
? A professional, motivated and driven individual with a strong sense of pride taken in their work.
? Working in the production environment, a methodical and cautious attention to detail is crucial and the ability to work to deadlines.
? Have excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong customer focus skills and be able to articulate solutions appropriate to the audience.
? Demonstrate excellent customer service, analytical and problem solving skills and provide solutions.
? Experience supporting multiple applications.
? A willingness to learn new and develop already existing technology and skills.
? Contribute to the continuous improvement process in regards to team, self, processes and systems
? Scripting language (Unix, such as Bash or Kornshell) (desirable).
? Experience with Oracle PL/SQL (desirable).
? DBA or Development experience (advantage).
