SQL Developer
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The newly established integration team has been set up to focus on the growing estate of system integrations within Barbour.
You will work within a diverse, inclusive IT department designing and developing new solutions to help integrate our key systems, alongside supporting and improving existing integrations.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
You will scope and develop complex integration solutions by using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), stored procedures and other SQL database tools and practices.
You will proactively identify areas for improvement within existing solutions and take responsibility for seeing your ideas through to completion.
You will help to improve our ways of working as a department, collaborating with others within the team to evolve our methodologies.
Qualifications & Experience
We are looking for an experienced SQL Developer who has worked extensively within the Microsoft SQL Server stack and who has proven success in developing data models and ETL solutions.
Knowledge & Skills Required
You have plenty of experience in a database developer (or similar) role, and have a passion for creating efficient, repeatable solutions through SQL Server and SSIS.
You are self-organising with a positive attitude and actively look for ways to improve both the technical solutions we have and the way we implement them. You love best practice and doing things ‘the right way’, but not at the expense of delivering for your customers.
It would be great if you’ve worked in an Agile environment, but it’s not critical.
Business Intelligence Analyst
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOBTo lead in the support and development of BI solutions within the Barbour Business.
To scope, design and Build BI solutions including Business Reporting, Systems and Data Integration, data queries and data management.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop BI and Reporting solutions utilising Microsoft technologies SSIS, SSRS, Qliksense (and Qlikview) or similar tool in-line with business priorities.
- To manage and resolve problems relating to Business Reporting
- To provide analysis, define and design systems solutions to business requirements
- Support the business with data queries, extracts and analysis
- Maintain strong system and knowledgebase documentation.
- Ensure requirements are clearly defined and approved with business users.
- Additional project and support duties as required.
Qualifications
- BI and reporting development experience using Microsoft technologies.
- A good general education, significant IT and BI experience.
- ERP-system experience desirable
Knowledge & Skills Required
- Proficiency in Developing and Supporting BI Reporting Tools ideally Qlikview or Qliksense
- Strong MS SQL and ETL Skills (TSQL, SSIS, SSRS)
- Good knowledge of Data Warehouse scoping, design and build
- Good Business Analysis skills
- Good practice Systems Interface development techniques
- Good Business user relationship management
