Why we need you:
As a main supporter facing arm of the charity, Volunteer Fundraising is extremely important in bridging the gap between the science and the support we receive from the general public.
The Learning & Development team support the development needs of our Volunteer Fundraising team. We are looking for an L&D expert who is willing to take on this exciting volunteer role of L&D Specialist, and help us to design and deliver learning experiences to our team members.
What will I be doing?
Your role is likely to involve:
- Supporting L&D initiatives that help to deliver the Volunteer Fundraising Ops Plan, 5 year Strategy and Income
- Designing interactive, engaging and outcome focused e-learning modules to support our Area Volunteer Managers through Fundraising Basics training
- Converting existing learning packages into e-learning solutions
What skills and attributes do I need to have?
- Experience of and a passion for learning and organisational development.
- Experience of designing, delivering and evaluating training programmes
- Creative design skills including the ability to create blended solutions such as e-learning, facilitator led sessions and supporting materials
- Excellent project management and organisational skills
- Experience of using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Adobe Captivate at a high level
- Excellent written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for building relationships with staff and volunteers in a geographically dispersed department.
- Enthusiasm and the ability to respond proactively to new opportunities and challenges.
How much time do I need to commit?
Ideally, we would like you to commit to 1-2 days a week on an ongoing basis, though we are happy to discuss your availability and what you would like to get out of the role, in order to work out a mutually beneficial plan.
What support will I be given?
- As you will be home based, the support you will receive will be a combination of some face to face time and virtual contact with a member of the team. We will endeavour to provide you with the skills, knowledge and resources you need to carry out your role effectively

Where will I be based?
You will be home based. The L&D team are home based with travel when required
