About the job

SlashData is the leading research company in the developer economy: We help the world understand developers and developers understand the world. We survey 40,000+ developers annually – across mobile, IoT, desktop, cloud, AR/VR, web, games, data science, and machine learning – to help clients such as Microsoft, Facebook, Google and Amazon understand who developers are, what tools they love or hate and where they are going next.

We’re now looking for a full-time, Junior Data Analyst to help drive insights out of a wealth of data points relating to developer activity. You’ll be working based anywhere in Europe working from home or a co-working space to support our distributed team.

Who we’re looking for

As a Junior Data Analyst, you will have at least 1 year of working experience in data analysis. You will be fearless in number crunching and keen to show-off your pivots and visualisations with eye-candy that begs to differ from boring Excel charts.

You will have undertaken many data analysis projects where your attention to detail would impress.

What you’ll be doing

  • Handling clients data requests, preparing tables and charts and communicating results.
  • Assisting the other analysts with data analysis as needed.
  • Validating the data shown in our dashboards.
  • Supporting other internal teams, such as sales and developer outreach, with any data requests.
  • Running data analysis using Python and Excel.

What we are looking for

  • Problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously and manage your time effectively.
  • Fearless in data analysis and number crunching in Python and Excel.
  • Background in statistics, mathematics or applied economics.
  • Excellent MS Office skills.
  • Excellent organisation skills and attention to detail.
  • Minimum of 1 year’s experience as an analyst.
  • Excellent English language skills (spoken and written).

Bonus points for

  • Data modelling skills.
  • A passion for technology, and an understanding of how it’s impacting people’s lives.
  • Good quantitative research skills.

Key Success Metrics

You will be successful in the role if in the first 6 months you have:

  • Become a dependable team member.
  • Fully familiarised yourself with our survey datasets and our internal Python library for data analysis.
  • Delivered at least 10 sets of data tables and/or graphs in response to client requests.

What we offer

  • Opportunity to make a difference as part of the leading research company in the developer economy
  • Part of an entrepreneurial company that’s raising the bar, and calling the trends of the developer economy
  • Opportunity to work with some of the biggest tech brands in the world
  • International team, great work atmosphere & flexible working environment
  • Competitive salary + bonus twice yearly based on performance
  • You will never work on your birthday – we automatically give you this day off
  • Annual training budget to develop your skills and career
  • Home office set up budget
  • Annual allowance to spend on co-working with your colleagues
  • Monthly book allowance from Amazon, on any book you like
  • Spotify Premium subscription or Netflix vouchers
