We are looking for a motivated individual with an understanding of SQL and a drive to develop new skills as a Data Engineer. This role can be positioned in the UK or Bulgaria. By joining our growing data team, the successful candidate would receive training in:
- Modern cloud-based Data Platform / Data Lake architecture
- ETL and Data Warehousing concepts
- Data engineering best practice in Microsoft Azure
- Version control in Git
- Coaching in agile methodologies
Using these new skills, the successful candidate will assist with implementing a new cloud-based data platform in Microsoft Azure.

What You’ll Be DoingThe focus of a Junior Data Engineer will be to upskill and become a fully-fledged BI Engineer, ultimately responsible for;
- Ingestion of raw data into the Data Lake
- Refining and curating data for use in gold-standard reports
- Refining data in the SQL Data Warehouse presentation layer
- Supporting a range of data access mechanisms into customer data ecosystems
- Developing and maintaining high-quality integrations into an operator’s chosen 3rd party tooling, for example, CRM, ERP or financial processing systems
- Transforming and loading JSON data delivered by Microsoft Service Bus in near-real-time into the Bede Data Platform
- Creating dashboards and pre-prepared reports allowing non-technical business users to easily interrogate Bede’s Data Warehouse
- Collaborating with the team to refine scope and define solutions to business requirements.
- Performing peer-review of other team members’ code
- Version control and collaboration using Git
- Supporting the testing of new and existing data flows
- Monitoring and maintaining the data pipeline in pre-production and production environments.
What We Are Looking For

- Understand relational data modeling
